Artist Country Home by the SandbanksA retreat for relaxation, creative work or enjoying the conviviality of friends and family, the Artist County Home is a unique rural vacation setting, close to the popular sandy beaches and dunes of Sandbanks Park. Its simple artistic aesthetic and abundant natural light will calm urban-frenzy and rejuvenate the spirit.
Step into the kitchen and experience simple European elegance; a collection of baskets ready for market, dishes on display and royal blue cupboards with wood accents. A cathedral ceiling beckons you to soar with the Asian gods suspended above. This fully-equipped kitchen offers a gas stove top, electric oven, griddle and oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, modern appliances, dishes, wine-glasses, cutlery and pots and pans. Off the kitchen is a 2 piece bathroom which includes a washer and dryer and additional storage. Beautiful wood floors are throughout the house.
An open concept dining room and living room allows for seamless entertaining. Celebrate with family and friends or savour an intimate dinner with your beloved. An oval-shaped dining room table seats 8 comfortably. The vintage style living room with vintage furniture offers comfortable seating for 8. Watch a glowing fire in the wood stove while conversing with friends and listen to the musically-talented playing a piano. A stereo, TV and DVD player are also provided for your entertainment (the TV does not have cable or satellite hooked up to it, it is for watching DVD's and movies only).
A walk-out patio door leads to a spacious screened in porch with vaulted ceiling. The perfect setting for lazy lounging, cocktail drinks or al fresco dining. This porch overlooks a lush lawn and summer gardens surrounded by evergreen trees at the backyard perimeter offering guests maximum privacy. Enjoy playing frizbee or soccer on the spacious grounds.
Minimalist, simple bedrooms with quality bedding and linens encourage peaceful slumber. On the second floor there is a Queen bed in the master bedroom and 2 Singles in the other bedroom. On this level there is a four-piece bathroom with bath towels and toiletries. Guests are asked to bring their own beach towels. On the main level, off the kitchen, and adjacent to the garden, there is a third bedroom with a Queen bed. The 3rd bedroom is located in separate quarters, adjacent to/ and approximately 10' from the main house. (Note: There is no direct access to this room from within the house.)This bedroom is equipped with a Queen bed and it also has a sink.
The living room has a sitting alcove by day and a Single day bed for the occasional guest by night. Enjoy soft summer breezes throughout the house; for still nights fans are provided for additional comfort.
A short bicycle ride to Sandbanks Provincial Park, enjoy the close proximity of sandy beaches at Sandbanks Provincial Park. Centrally located, Artist Country Home is only a short-drive to wineries, local markets, galleries, restaurants and cultural destinations.
