Willow Lake House is undergoing a substantial renovation in the spring of 2018 to its main living area, which will bring the waterfront views indoors, and will include a new kitchen (with all new appliances) and oversized island in an open concept great room, with a wood burning fireplace. There will also be a new bathroom added to the three bedroom bungalow, which will make 3 full baths available for guests. 

The house is ideal for family vacations and outdoors enthusiasts due to its expansive lawns and waterfront access, as well as its close proximity to the Millenium Trail and a golf course/water driving range.  This property features beautiful and private 150+ feet of south facing frontage on Lake Ontario, while being within an easy walk of local shops and restaurants in Wellington.

Spectacular views of the lake greet you upon arrival with an expansive 2.3 acres of lawn, providing lots of privacy and space.  There is a lakeside cedar deck/lounge area, plus outdoor seating and dining areas on the patio adjoining the house, all positioned far from the road. There is a basketball net on the driveway.  Another new feature for 2018 will be a screened porch area facing the lake.

Inside, enjoy relaxing in contemporary style furnishings with open concept dining/living room equipped with Satellite TV and board games. The 9’ dining table seats 8-10. The home features all the modern amenities, including new kitchen appliances, air conditioning, as well as tankless hot water and natural gas bbq.

Waterfront

Due to the 15 foot escarpment and unfettered access to the waterfront, this property is suitable for children ages 8 and up. The lake is accessible with cedar stairs and railing, but there is no dock permitted in this area and water can get choppy.  Once down at the shoreline, limestone ledges extend into the water, which makes for a fairly shallow entry and is clean and clear for swimming. Waterfront access is rocky and can be slippery, so this property would not be suitable for everyone. We recommend guests bring water shoes. There is an abundance of sandy beaches nearby as well.

Enjoy sitting out by the water on the waterfront deck. Willow Lake House is an ideal spot for kayaking or launching a canoe. The house enjoys an unobstructed view of the Sandbanks Provincial Park in the distance, on a sheltered bay.

Take an easy walk into Wellington town centre (15 min) for coffee, ice cream and dining options at The General Store, Enid Grace Cafe, Nice Ice Baby, The Courage, East & Main and The Drake Devonshire. The Foodland grocery is on the same block. Closer to the house (3 min) you have Lakeshore Farms Market for local produce and baked goods, Dari Bar for ice cream and café food, Wellington Bakery, LCBO and Soup Opera for charcuterie and fine dining across the road from the house. The Wellington Golf Course is walking distance across the road as well.

All season rental property is fully winterized. Reservations between mid-June and mid-September require a weekly booking. All other times require 2 night minimum. Provincial Park Passes for two vehicles are included with your rental. No pets please.

This house in PEC is a perfect mix of getting away from it all, while still being able to walk into town. We loved our weekend, spending time enjoying the lovely house, swimming in the lake, lounging on the rocks, and wandering into town for dinner at the Drake. Wouldnt change a thing about it - perfect for a weekend getaway with family or friends!

WATERFRONT DESCRIPTION: The waterfront is 100 feet from the house down a 15 foot escarpment with wooden stairs. Limestone ledges extend into the water which is weed-free and clear. Lake Ontario can get choppy at times so children should be strong swimmers always accompanied/supervised by adults. Due to the steepness of the escarpment, children age 8+ are recommended for this property and shoreline may not be suitable for older guests wanting to swim.
